Geocache Description:

From Dictionary.com – estuary (noun) An arm of the sea that extends inland to meet the mouth of a river.

The following statement can be found on the Nature Conservancy of Canada’s website: “The Musquash Estuary is the last fully functioning estuary in the Bay of Fundy.”

Explore it now before it’s gone and please respect the land.

The cove/beach/cache is located in Musquash, NB.

There are different ways to get to the cache, this is one of them:

Make your way to Hwy1, west of Saint John. Take Exit 96 to Hwy 790 Musquash-Chance Harbour. Head towards Chance Harbour. After crossing a bridge turn left onto the South Musquash Road. Follow this road until you come to a small church on your right. Turn right onto the gravel road beside the church. This road is rough in a few places, the worst spot being 700 m from the church at the powerline. When hiding the cache we traveled the road in a Ford Taurus and did not bump bottom. Follow this road until you come to a another road on your right at [N 45°09.031’ W 66°15.849’]. This road is a loop that will take you to Gooseberry Cove, past the abandoned homesteads, then swing into the woods, around to the White Rocks and return you to your starting point. PLEASE NOTE: The entire loop can only be done by foot, mountain bike or ATV. Go right on this road and stay on it until you get to the sign. Park here and step over the cable across the driveway and head to the cache. The cache is located on the eastern end of the beach. Cache is an air tight plastic container covered with camo tape. GPS WAAS accuracy was 1.9m when the cache was stashed. Good luck finding the cache. Remember, please hide the cache as well as or better than you found it.

When placing the caches we had a great talk with the caretaker of the property at Gooseberry Cove, Mr. Proctor. We let him know that we wanted to share this beautiful area with others via the Internet. He said that hiking was fine, but sees ATVs as a nuisance. He regrets cutting an ATV trail to the head adjacent to Gooseberry Island, but it’s since grown in.
