The First GAS (GeocachingAlbertaSouth) Summer
Event Cache, a get together at Medicine Hat's Echo Dale Regional
Park. Come as you are, this is nothing fancy just a potluck style
summer supper at our local park.
I am hoping we have a hot summer day, our local kids will all be
back in school so this is it, the last gasp of summer.
We will be assembling a potluck meal, we are looking for
everything so if you can bring something please speak up.
The itinerary is simple, a late afternoon barbeque/supper at our
local swim center group area followed by an evening bonfire and the
last hurrah sunset watch. This will be a Saturday so there will be
no school the next day, parents can let the kids stay up late on
the real last day of the summer holidays.
One last chance to roast marshmallows so make sure you bring a
stick, no activities planned beyond the existing caches that are
already here and perhaps a few new hides. One last day to rest and
relax in the soft afterlight of summer and look towards the the
clear crisp days of Autumn just around the corner. Hamburgers and
hotdogs, salad and beans, whatever shows up, a last chance to have
one of those simple summer meals.
No frenetic pace, no race, just some excellent adventures and a
chance to say goodbye to the geocaching season that we love the
best in the sunny south, Summer.
I really hope to see everyone come out and say hello, a great
chance to get out and meet the people who are the names you see in
the logbooks. We will have a few geocoins to give away in a draw
style prize giveaway right after supper. Here is a rough schedule
