Damn
Freddo’s Up the Numbered Creek cache series.
Our
forefathers could be pretty boring people when they really tried.
Having named the things they found after themselves, their wives,
their children, their patrons, their monarchs, feast days and the
remaining days of the week, they then started on the look of the
natural features. Brown Hill,
Green Hill, Black
Hill, Red Hill, Mount
Lofty. If all else failed they then fell back to
numbers.
Apparently, First Creek was formerly called Fern Creek. Maiden
hair ferns can still be seen on the banks of the creek in Waterfall
Gully.
Starting from Lofty Ambitions there are many caches along the
banks of First Creek, including the greatest most difficult mystery
cache that only a few people have solved and visited. First Creek
runs through Hazelwood Park, Marryatville and Norwood. The waters
of this creek were used for production of Woodroofe’s Lemonade.
This cache is located near Freddo’s favourite fine food
providore.
Australians seem to be in need of some more creative natural
feature naming. In your logs we would ask you to come up with an
improved name for the creek.
