Shilo: Went by and no cache. To much growth to put it back where it was. Thanks to everyone who found it. Time to give the area up to someone else.

Geocache Description:

Not a difficult cache to get to, only about 350ft from parking, which is the Hiram Silver Comet overflow lot.

However, once you get near the cache there are many dangers that the week and meek should not even think about attempting to contend with like poison ivy, an old barb wire fence and a few thorns here and there. But, if you are an adventurous geocacher that has the cunning and wits to step over the broken fence and wear the the correct clothing and shoes to avoid the poison ivy and the sense to not grab the thorny plants than you may very well enjoy this cache. Now for some information on who we can thank for such a good place to put a cache(information from The Dallas New Era vol 124 no 27):

Characterized as an old-style politician's politician, Leggett was a Paulding County native and served in the navy during WWII. He was Hiram's mayor from 1961-67 and he also served as a state representative for Georgia.

Leggett owned a construction and paving company and donated land that was used for Hiram's first fire station and more land used for the Hiram Ruritan Club and the ball fields being used today. Leggett passed away in 1975.
