Geocache Description:

this Geo-Post office cache is placed near the motorway for easy access by those who are travelling up and down the country.

This is a Geo-Post Office AND a Motorway Mayhem cache!

Motorway Mayhem caches are designed to provide fairly easy drive-by caches for travellers who are in need of a break. Geo-Post Office is used to swap letters and postcards between geocachers! This Geo-Post Office is the first of its kind outside North America.

Here is how Geo-Post office works: Caches are placed to hold postcards. Each postcard will have a short message and a forwarding address on it. The address will contain the person's name that you are trying to send the postcard to, their home city, and a destination cache. The idea is to move postcards between Geo-Post Offices and other caches until they reach their destination. When you move a postcard or message from one place to another, let the person who it's being sent to know where you moved it to, because they might be near enough to go and pick it up. If you move a postcard from one Geo-Post Office, please move it closer to the city or cache!

You can send any message you want to anyone you want! You can get your own postcard to send, but this Geo-Post Office is the first to offer original handmade postcard by the cache owner with “Preston Geo-Post” on it so the person receiving the postcard will know where it originated from! When you get to the cache, simply take one blank postcard, fill it out, and put it in the “TO SEND” bag (The postcard has “place stamp here” on it, but of course you don’t need to put any stamps on it!!). The postcard is stamped with waterproof ink and there is a waterproof pen to write on your postcard, in case it gets a little wet.

If there are any postcards in the “TO SEND” bag in the cache when you arrive, feel free to forward them on if you can. If not, don't worry, just leave them for the next cacher.

You can see list of other Geo-Post Office Click here.

Please don't try to access this directly from the dual carriage way!! Go onto vicarage lane, and you are best to park under the bridge (as there isn't anywhere you can turn around easily for another half a mile) this will bring you right to a pathway, and about 100 yards from the cache. Tree cover may play havoc with your GPS, the above coordinate was averaged by my GPS after 250 readings, to the accuracy of 14 feet. You will not need to go out the steps, but please be aware that there are lots of thorny plants and nettles (shorts will hurt!!).

The cache is a medium (big enough to fit postcards) lock tupperware in a camoflage bag, the original contents are:
Snorkmaiden Travel Bug
Blue Moomin Travel Bug
Snufkin Travel Bug
Unactivated Travel Bug Dog Tag
Official geocaching compass zipper pull
Official geocaching lapel pin
Pink pocket mirror (for the girls)
Postcards addressed for 3 geocachers

it's also advisable to use gloves if you have them on you. Please hide it well afterwards.

A special thanks goes to Zonker&co and pete_l_00 for helping me so much with setting this cache up :)
