This is a beautiful spot to view June Lake from above, and points north, from an altitude of 8,475 ft.
Enter a dirt road (west) off US 395 in the Eastern Sierra’s just south of Hwy 158 at N 37 48.494 W 119 02.889 (directly opposite of Pumice Mine Road.) Proceed to N 37 48.444 W 119 02.872 and follow this road to the cache. The road continues from here and eventually ends up at Hartley Springs Campground.
I suggest a high clearance vehicle or a 4x4. A passenger car could possibly make it but the road becomes sandy, slightly rutted and rough at some places. This is not a place for a new Mercedes.
The cache is a long - round trail mix container that’s painted to match its surroundings. It’s filled with tons of goodies. Bring a lunch and enjoy the view.
