Geocache Description:

A hike up the Bartram Trail

This cache is hidden as part of the One Degree of Separation Geocaching Project. It's no different from any other cache--you just find it and log your find.

This cache came from a seed cache placed by Ozguff. For more info about the One Degree of Separation Project, see One Degree of Separation

Now, about this cache: It's a large ammo box hidden off a trail accessed via War Woman Dell in Rabun County. There is another cache (CCC Camp F-6, Waypoint GCP826) about .6 miles from this one--it might be considered a two-fer.

Even though it's about .6 from the CCC Camp cache, that is as the crow flies! As the geocacher hikes, it's a bit more, maybe a little more than 1 mile. It's a nice trail, though, and is named for naturalist William Bartram who researched flora and fauna in the late 1700s.

Pull in past the gates until you get to a dead end to park. If the gates are closed you can walk in, but that adds to the hike. Approximate coords for parking are N34 52.896 W083 21.166--approximate because the signal isn't great at the parking area. After you park, go up the set of stone steps right in front of the parking spaces. The trail you want is marked with yellow diamond-shaped blazes and is UP and to the left. Going toward the cache is an uphill climb--you gain about 375 feet. Coming back is a nice, relaxed downhill, though. :)
