Geocache Description:

NOTE: The listed coordinates are not the location of the cache! You'll have to figure out the location based on the information below!

Heron Bay cache is located on a promontory overlooking the narrows and north end of Lake Del Valle. The hike to the cache consists of varied terrain along well defined trails and is approximately 8 miles round trip from the park entrance near the glider port on top of the hill. If you come in from the Arroyo side count on about 6+ miles. Bring water and snacks, as well as a sturdy pair of hiking boots.
Heron Bay cache is a multi cache. Navigate to the coordinates listed above and then use your compass to sight a heading of 262 degrees true. Proceed approximately 275 paces. You will come to a stately old oak tree with a huge canopy of leaves. At the base of the tree will be a paving stone on which are chiseled the final coordinates you will need to locate the cache. Underneath the stone is the tool necessary to open the cache. Please replace when finished. Those of you with lock picking tools may want to leave the tool underneath the stone.
When placed the cache contained the following: A Christmas Fish, an LED flashlight, a new four in one screwdriver, a carabineer w/ compass, a crash bandicoot game and a touchstone geocache coin, a disposable camera (take your picture and I will post it!) as well as the log book.
