Geocache Description:

This cache is in San Juan County Utah on Highway 95. Stop at the Salvation Knoll overlook. There are no road signs announcing this overlook is here. There is parking for RV's and Cacher towing vehicles.

Cache is in at plastic container with two locking sides and has camouflage tape on it. There are many items in this cache for trade for all ages of people.

There is a sign that tells about early Mormon pioneer coming through here and this was the last big hill before getting into the San Juan Valley. Hence called Salvation Knoll. This cache is on the west side of the knoll and southwest of the balanced rock. Picture if you can, no modern roads of today and only the wilderness. This is the best view to see how the pioneers really traveled through all the rock, trees and scrubs. From the view area you can see to the south is Old Highway 95 on the edge of Fish Creek that has multi Indian mounds and ruins. In the far off distance you can see Grand Gulch, Cedar Mesa, and Monument Valley AZ. To the south is Moss Back. Points of interest is that Southeast Comb Ridge runs from Blue Mountain down past Salvation Knoll and can be seen from outer space. Please make sure you put the cache back in the same spot. Have fun in San Juan County.
