Just a little trail hike for all family members.
The posted coordinates are for the trail parking lot.
This is an interesting almost 10 mile trail around the Lake Young’s watershed. While the trail is somewhat lengthy, this little multi is not.
If you’re interested in doing the loop hike, don’t expect to find open views of the lake. There’s only one point along the trail where sparse winter foliage allows a portion of the lake to be seen.
Tree cover adds to the adventure, but there’s open air near where it’s needed.
For today’s adventure follow the trail from the parking lot and head for WP1 at N47 26.243, W122 07.165. This waypoint provides a teachable moment for parents with young teens. Besides pondering the scenery behind the fence, note the reference to RCW XX.AB.
The ammo box cache is located in a typical spot near N47 26.347-.0BA, W122 07.489-.BAB. Please rehide it so it is not visible to the passerby.
