Geocache Description:

A small cammo'd container hidden in some urban art along the waterfront. DESIGNED TO BE A GEOCOIN TRADING CACHE. PLEASE KEEP A GEOCOIN IN THIS CACHE AT ALL TIMES.

The North Embarcadero along the spectacular San Diego Bay has been transformed with a distinctive grove filled with unusual landscaping. Standing gracefully along the tidelands are unique trees made of steel and glass, tiles and copper, wood and canvas, inspiration and imagination. This remarkable display, which annually attracts national and international attention, is the newest exhibit of Public Art in the Port of San Diego's Tidelands Collection.

THE FISHERMAN WAS ONCE AT THIS SPOT BUT IT HAS SINCE BEEN TAKEN DOWN: Inspired by the beauty and majesty of the Great Egret, this 13-foot tall sculpture pays homage to the noble bird. Constructed of expanded metal to give a feeling of feathers and airiness, the tree casts interesting patterns on the ground and on visitors who stand under its partially outstretched wings.

Artist: Stephen Fairfield
