Damn Good View Traditional Cache
Kiama Krew: Am archiving our caches when I'm advised they require attention, as my kid's interest in geocaching has moved on. We had a ball while it lasted.

Peaceful scenic rural location in dairy cattle country. Easy parking and picnic / toilets provided. Short walk to cache but a little steep to GZ.
Pack a picnic basket for this one. Just out of town in rolling hills, this spot offers great opportunities to see dairy cattle up close, wombats, eels and lyrebirds.
Note: Gates to the site open between 8:00 am and 4 :00 pm but pedestrian access is 24/7. Sometimes the gates are closed before 4 pm (not sure why) so be prepared for a walk if the gates are closed.
UPDATE: Jan 2014 .....
The original clue was a cryptic one :"It's what our Sir Don protected best", but during our last visit I saw that the old rotten tree 'stump' has since weathered away. So look about for a small pile of rocks - NOTE it is NOT within any of the structured rock walls.
UPDATE: Oct 2014
The original GZ was once hidden by bushes but these have since gone - and so the spot is now easily visible from the nearby picnic table. So I've moved GZ approx 150 m away - well clear of any prying eyes.
The best route is to follow the track from the internal car park to the dam view (near the wooden picnic table), then take the track on your right (do not go through the latched gate straight ahead). Follow this track uphill for about 90 m then check your bearing and distance to the new GZ - this will keep you out of the trees and thick bushes.
UPDATE: Apr 2016
When I relocated the cache in Oct 2014, access to it was easy - just walk across the low field of kikuyu grass to the low rock wall and it was under a big rectangular rock laying horizontally. But now this area is a jungle of tall grass trying to trip you with every step and lots of bracken also trying to impede your progress - which is not very geo-kiddie friendly - so I had to relocate it to a more accessible location. Best route is to park in the car park, follow the track to the dam, take the steep path to the right (don't go through the gate) and stick to the path for as long as you can. It's about 600 m from the carpark area. Go back the same way as the grassy track leads to dead end. Watch out for any seasonal stinging nettles and thorny bushes near GZ.
Update June 2017
When I relocated the cache in April 2016, access to it was easy - it was a simple climb up to the bough of a coral tree. But when I inspected the site today I couldn't believe the change in vegetation - tall lantana surrounded the tree and nasty big spines on the tree's new branches. Not very friendly. So now it's very close to the track - and hopefully insusceptible to nasty vegetation. Best route is still to park in the car park, follow the track to the dam, take the steep path to the right (don't go through the gate) and stick to the path for another 160 m. Go back the same way as the grassy path leads to a dead end.
