Schneider Park is home to the Kitchener-Waterloo Rowing Club. It is also a great fishing spot and a canoe launch.
Extreme stealth will be required if the rowers are present, at least for the first half of the cache.
The bridge at Freeport has been through many phases starting as the first permanent major bridge in Waterloo Township in 1820. The area then became know as Toll Bridge, then later Bridgeville and finally Freeport before being incorporated into the city of Kitchener.
This bridge was replaced by first iron bridge in Waterloo County in 1880 at a cost of $8995. The present bowstring truss bridge made with reinforced concrete was built in 1925 costing $85,000. This Bridge was refurbished in 2003 for $3,5000,000. Talk about inflation!
