Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
PLEASE NOTE: Coordinates above are not the actual coordinates to the cache. To get the true coordinates you will need to answer some questions and solve some problems below. The final location will be a slight offset from the coordinates you determine. AT NO POINT ARE YOU REQUIRED TO BE INSIDE THE STADIUM. ALL CLUES CAN BE OBTAINED FROM OUTSIDE THE GATES AND THE CACHE IS ACCESSIBLE AT ALL TIMES (THOUGH IT WILL PROBABLY BE EASIER TO OBTAIN SOME INFORMATION DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS).
Cache is located on the grounds of Mississippi State's Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field, the second-oldest, Division I on-campus football stadium in the United States. The facility celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2014.
To determine the true coordinates, obtain the following information. Some of this information will need to be researched, while other pieces can only be found on site. Take special care in noting that the letters below correspond directly to the number of numbers you are looking for in each answer (i.e. 2 letters=2 numbers). Also please note that the numbers you seek below have been updated (as of 9/1/14) and are reflective of the new north end zone expansion:
ABCD: The year the facility opened.
EFGHI: Current seating capacity of the facility.
JK: Total number of the stadium's sections in the lower level.
LM: Sets of stadium lights at the top of the stadium (include east & west sides).
N: Number of club level sections (contain maroon chairback seats) there are on the East side of the stadium.
O: Number of levels on the walk ramp on the Northwest corner of the stadium (bottom level counts as one).
PQ: O + 2.
Coordinates will be:
(E-3)(L+2).(J)(I).(B/3)(A)(D)
(Q)(H+5)(O).(N-K)(C+6).(M*6)(A+C)(F-1)
Once you are at the coordinates, you will then need to proceed approximately 35 paces due North (may not be exactly three-six-zero, but you'll understand once you're there) to find the cache.
When you are done, please be sure to replace the cache securely in its original location. Thank you.
