A cache in memory of my grandfather who passed away on July 19, 2006 placed at a favorite spot of his in Carson National Forest overlooking the Continental Divide. Getting to this cache will require hiking. How much you hike is going to depend on whether you approach it from above the divide or below. The cache sits at 7887 ft.
The cache is an orange Dibs ice cream container wrapped in duct tape. If approached from above the divide, the cache will not require climbing. If you approach from below the divide, you might have to do some steep hill climbing if not outright rock climbing.
Please note that during hunting season, this is a popular hunting area so an orange vest during these times is recommended. Whatever you do, don't dress up like an elk.
At any rate, if you're going to head out there, do some camping. It's an outstanding forest to camp in.
