Down on the Farm Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Alansee: I have been back to this place several times now and with the changes that have occurred there, plus the high density of muggles, have regretfully decided to archive it. Even tried to make it a micro but couldn't find anywhere that I thought was suitable. Might put one at the convent though!

Geocache Description:

The Collingwood Childrens Farm is a place that all city kids should come to, and is pretty good for adults too.

The Farm has been going as a community based organisation since 1979, when a section of land was leased from the nearby convent. It is a place where metropolitan based children can learn that eggs, milk, cream, cheese, vegetables, fruit and horse manure don’t actually grow on supermarket shelves! It is very community based, with plenty of opportunities for people to become involved in the farms activities, on a casual or ongoing basis. For those wishing to learn more about the farm, and the history of the area, there is some interesting information on their website – www.farm.org.au

The published coordinates will have you in the vicinity of a structure which separates farm access traffic from passing Yarra River pathway traffic, and the cache is to be found there. It is accessed from the Yarra path and is not far from it.

The cache is a 1.5 litre plastic container, containing……… well, what else would be in it?

Muggles will be a definite problem on weekends and school holidays, while at other times there will be some through traffic, and in the evenings it should be fairly easy. Even on busy days it should be possible to retrieve the cache unnoticed if the right technique is employed.

'End of the Road' (GCNDBJ) by tbn97 is not too far from here but please note - there is not a simple, direct route between these two.
