Tommy's Arm River
at the lower end of Crescent Lake emptys into Tommy's Arm where
fresh meets salt water. This river system is well known for its
Salmon Fishing, Sea Trout and years ago the Pulp Wood Industry,
used for driving logs down river to meet the Schooners waiting at
the mouth of the river. A plaque erected near the Dam Gazebo Picnic
area gives a look back at the past and the Logging Era for Robert's
Arm including the great logging strike. The final cache location
coordinates are; N 49' 28._ _ _ W 055' 48._ _ _ To get the
remainder of the coordinates you will need to answer 2 questions
from the information gathered at the first waypoint. 1st question
to complete North Heading; In a 1935 census, what was the average
annual income of a logger? Add that amount to 73.5 to get the final
3 digits of the N' heading. 2nd question to complete West Heading;
In October 1937, how many loggers went on strike? Subtract that
number from 1273 to get the final 3 digits of the W'
heading.
