Bruce Coast Lighthouse Series: POINT CLARKE Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

hikerboy: Hikergirl_1 and I had a great time planning and setting up this series in early summer last year. And we really enjoyed reading all the logs and knowing that so many people have visited the lighthouses of the beautiful Bruce Coast. Now, with a second lighthouse visiting season wrapping up, we have decided to retire this series. Special thanks go out to the Friends of Cabot Head--their generous support of this initiative provided fantastic gift store prizes for everyone who completed the series!

Geocache Description:

Enjoy some beautiful sights while visiting historic lighthouses of Bruce County, collect clues to get to the series final (GCXDHN), do it by Thanksgiving 2006 and get a prize!

This cache is located within a few hundred metres of Point Clarke light, an original Imperial Tower, built in the 1850s, first lit in 1859, and standing 80 feet above the shore. Go inside for the tour and climb the steps to the top!

The cache is a small camouflaged container. It has space for small items such as pins and geocoins. When it was placed it contained two pencils and a sharpener but you may want to bring your own writing instrument just in case. If you are planning to do the series, take note of the two-letter code on the lid or inside cover of the log book. YOU CANNOT GET TO THE FINAL WITHOUT THE CODE.

If you complete the series during the 2007 season, the gift shop at the Cabot Head lightstation (final location) has generously donated prizes. Complete details are on the final cache listing (GCXDHN). [Last year's prize contest required you to take a ticket from each cache in the series. This is *not* necessary this year, although you do need the code from each cache to get to the final. Any tickets remaining in the cache container may be removed and discarded.]
