300 mètres.
Le pont Champlain enjambe la rivière des
Outaouais sur une longueur d'environ un kilomètre. Il traverse les
îles Bates, Cunningham et Riopelle. Le pont a été nommé en
l'honneur de Samuel de Champlain, car il est situé tout près de
l'ancien portage utilisé par l'explorateur. Si l’histoire de ce
portage vous intéresse, je vous recommande la cache de Kenmore
« In the Footsteps of
the Voyageurs ».
À partir des coordonnées de départ, vous
pouvez apercevoir les "P" piliers qui relient la rive
ontarienne à l'île Riopelle. Pour poursuivre vous devez vous
déplacer de "P" X 10
mètres où un peu de lecture vous apprendra que le premier pont
Champlain a servi durant "A" années.
Les coordonnées de la cache sont N45 24.253
W75 45.???. Pour trouver ???, vous devez ajouter ( "A" X 2) + 50 à la longitude de
départ.
The cache is not
at the posted coordinates but is at less than 300 meters from
them.
The Champlain Bridge spans the Ottawa River on about 1 kilometre.
It crosses the islands Bates, Cunningham and Riopelle. The bridge
was named after Samuel de Champlain as its site is adjacent to the
ancient portage used by the explorer. If you want to learn more
about the story of this portage, I recommend the cache by Kenmore
“In the Footsteps of the Voyageurs”.
From the starting coordinates, you can see "P"
pillars that are between the Ontario shore and the Riopelle Island.
To continue, you must go "P" X 10 meters where
some reading will teach you that the first Champlain bridge served
during "A" years.

must add ("A" X 2) + 50 to the starting
longitude.
