This cache is placed along the Mather Memorial Parkway on highway
410, on the Yakima side of Chinook pass. It is close to a
established cache, giving you the opportunity to grab two caches in
one stop.
This cache is hidden along a 1/4 mile paved path loop north of the
parking area. The paved trail is very wheelchair and baby stroller
friendly. The last 66' to the cache requires no bushwacking and can
be seen from a nicely placed park bench. The reception can be
spotty at times, but there are openings in the forest canopy
allowing you to get a signal when you need it, as long as you don't
get in a big hurry. After finding the cache, take a couple of
minutes to walk the complete loop and read the informative placards
placed along the route. I've stocked the large ammo can with a nice
assortment of trinkets, and a disposable camera. So take a picture
of yourself doing the happy dance and then return the camera to the
cache for the next finder. When the camera is full, post that in
your log, and I will recover the camera and post the photos on the
cache page. I've also left 2 travel bugs to continue thier journey
and a FIRST TO FIND dogtag for the earlybird (its taped to the
lid).
