NOTE
Access Permit Goes Into Effect January 1, 2012 The Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries (DGIF) will require an Access Permit for visitors to department-owned Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs) and public fishing lakes effective January 1, 2012, who are age 17 and older, unless they possess a valid Virginia hunting, freshwater fishing, or trapping license, or a current Virginia boat registration, or are otherwise waived. The Facility Use Permit requirement does not apply to Department-owned boat ramps or segmentsof the Appalachian Trail on Department-owned land. Cost for the Daily Access Permit is $4 per person. Cost for the Annual Access Permit is $23 per person and both prices include the $1 per transaction license agent fee. Daily or Annual Access Permits for WMAs and department-owned public fishing lakes statewide will be available January 1, 2012 for purchase online, by calling 1-866-721-6911 during business hours, or at any license agent (like a Wal-Mart, etc.).
This is the 14th of our Fallin' For Virginia cache series. As always, our goal is to bring fellow cachers to some of the lesser known but very beautiful waterfalls of Southwest Virginia. As you can probably tell by now, Marge and I LOVE waterfalls.
The tumbling Creek flows from high on the Clinch Mountains through a sometimes narrow gorge to display some of the most beautiful scenic spots in all of Southwest Virginia. There are many spots to view or to fish the stream (fee applies to most areas).
This waterfall is the last we have featured within a short .5 mile of part of the Tumbling Creek Road. Yes, the drive is worth it to see the wonderful sights and to find three caches.
While the falls are called "little" they are really not little and you can drive right up to them. Have a cache, have a dip and have a picnic. The cache is within a few feet of parking. After finding the cache, drive up to the fork in the road and go left for a couple of miles. You will then be in the Clinch Mountain Wildlife Management Area and at the Laurel bed Lake. Take a lot of photos and fish if you like.
Even though the topography doesn't lend itself to hunting, it is allowed so during hunting seasons take care. Maybe some Blaze orange?
The coordinates were difficult to receive due to the narrow gorge and tree cover so you may need to use the hint. If your GPS is showing accurate readings, please post the average coordinates your find for the cache.

NOTEThere are two other caches down (back) the road from here. First is the Big Falls (GCXBHQ) just .1 back and second is the Twin Hollows Falls (GCXBHG) at .3 mile back. Plus, there are three nice Lake caches up the road.
