This is a multi on the trail up big Moose Mountain in Greenville maine.
This is a steep three and a half mile hike to the top of the mountain with its elevation of 3198 feet. So I dropped the last stage far short of that. The cache is a good stopping spot if you are not in the shape you were in at 19. It is a 2.5 mile hike to the final cache per the hiking guide I say it is about 1.19 mile. I can do this in less then an hour. Beyond the final cache is the difficult hike to the top with some great stone stairs. total time to the top and back about 5 hours with a good break at the top. My wife and I went to the top in three hrs. and down in 1.5 hrs. This can be cache done in slightly over an hour. The first stage you must locate the small cache with co-ords for the second. The second is co-ords for the cache. It is very difficult to get good reception because of tree cover. I have marked these spots three times and they are all different. The cache is an ammo box well hidden but easy to find. It is on a well maintained trail with great veiws. Good luck. Do not leave the trail on any stage. Stage two you will see the perfect spot for a year round cache and thats where the info will be. Moses would be proud. This can be done on snow shoes. I have revisited the cache and fixed the stage two. should be able to read. poor reception in the area makes this a tough find. use geo sense and you will find it no problem
