Geocache Description:

Located near Lake Creek Campground in the Sangre de Christo mountains.

This is the first in a series of caches we intend to place in honor of two of our favorite outdoor activities: geocaching and camping. We placed this cache after spending the night at nearby Lake Creek Campground. The campground is only open part of the year, so getting to the cache location may be tricky in winter, but shouldn't be a problem the rest of the year.

The campground has plenty of room for RVs as well as some nice spots for tent camping. The creek is pretty small, but nice and cool in the summer. Hope you enjoy your stay!

Initial list of swag:
First Aid Kit
Screw Driver Set
Watch
Spare Tent Stakes
Energency Whistle
Pack of Colorado Playing Cards
Toy Car

UPDATE 6/14/2011: From what I can tell, the Duckett Fire is right in the area of the cache and may have actually destroyed it by now. Not sure if we'll get a chance to get out there any time soon, but we'll check on it if we do. In the meanwhile, I'm going to put it in maintenance mode. Thanks to everyone that's found this cache over the years. It's always fun to read people's logs!
