Geocache Description:

I like Gibbs Lake, but my GPSr does not. I figured this park had room for another cache or two or three, and brought a full sized cache with me to hide. Unfortunately, I cannot get a reading if I'm anywhere near a tree here, and there are lots of trees here.

The park has plenty of trails to explore, but I ended up at the swimming area. Even with nothing but blue sky above me, it took forever to get a lock, and that with a +/- accuracy of 98 feet.

I hid a micro here, and took a long time trying to get a decent reading. I welcome improved coordinates if I'm off.

You'll surely find the cache anyway, if you look for the friend I left guarding it. If the swim area is crowded, you may need to use a touch of stealth to approach it, but I think it can be done. Not to panic over a lost micro, if it comes to that, anyway. The place was deserted today.

I'd really love to do the Hoffman Lakeside trail (A on the map, around the lake) and maybe hide a cache there. If anyone would like to join me for a walk and a cache hide, I've got a stocked cache ready to go. You'd have to bring the GPSr, though. Mine is a good little one, but it sure wants to take the day off when we come here.

(Note: I've now got a volunteer hiking partner, so within the next couple of weeks we'll try to get a cache up on the back side of the lake.)

Congratulations to OldBaldEagle and TrueCompanion for the FTF!
