Geocache Description:


The Tisza-kastély (Tisza-residence) is the sight of Geszt. It has been built in 1772 in late-barokk style. It has been formed and augmented more times. It was the home of the Tisza-family that had 4100 acres.
Three sons of Tisza Lajos (who was the lord lieutenant of Bihar) was born here: Kálmán, the hungarian prime minister, Lajos, who was the assign of the governor, when there was flood in Szeged and he helped the people of Szeged, and Domokos who had died early. In 1851 his teacher was Arany János. Arany János's favourit place was the little summar-lodge next to the castle. To the memory of him in the building you can find an exhibition, and in the residence there is working a school, too. The park that around the residence has been recovered with trees in the XIX. Century. Some old trees remind of the old park.
