The coords above are for the Squinting Cat where you may wish to recover after the hunt. The first clue and final location are each within a mile, but not necessarily in the same direction . At least one location is fairly visible from the road – please be discreet!
If you walk the whole way, prepare for 2.5 to 3 miles total, there and back (depending on your starting point). Driving will cut the distance a little (but not a lot). Please choose parking places carefully.
If you can read Chinese, you will have a slight advantage here, but with the Web at your fingertips it’s not that difficult. If you're really stuck, a suggestion is in the hint. Be aware that there are small variations in the way characters are written, just as Roman letters can have different shapes, fonts, etc.
First clue:
The cache contents initially had a Chinese flavour (no, not noodles) and I tried to make them of reasonable quality. It would be nice if finders could stick to a broadly oriental theme.
The usual Yorkshire hazards apply i.e. mud, nettles, hawthorn, livestock, etc. No dry stones need be disturbed.
