This multi-cache will take you for a walk through the gardens
and sculpture park surrounding the gallery buildings of the Heide
Museum of Modern Art.
It will show you the Pickupfamily members' favourite sculptures
throughout the garden. The garden/sculpture park is "open daily",
which would be technically accessible 24 hours, although you may
not want to be seen snooping around outside the galleries at night.
The galleries themselves are open limited days and hours. YOU DO
NOT NEED TO BUY A TICKET TO VISIT THE GARDEN/SCULPTURE PARK OR TO
FIND THE CACHE.
To find the cache, you need to first collect information from
five specific scultpures. You will need to locate each of the
sculptures using the Site Plan paper map which you can obtain from
a few dispensers around the gallery grounds. Be sure to enjoy the
rest of the gardens too - you can bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on
the lawns.
1. The initial co-ordinates will have you in the Sir Rupert
Hamer garden near Inge King's Rings of Saturn
sculpture.
A = the number of white orbs in the grass.
2. Find Pickupfamily Dad's favourite sculpture: Alex
Selenitsch's The letter S. Facing this sculpture, imagine
you were to cut the metallic part in half by a single vertical
slice through the centre.
B = the number of pieces of metal you would end up with.
3. Find Pickupfamily Son's favourite sculpture: Anthony Caro's
Sidestep.
C = the number of H-cross-section pieces in this
sculpture.
4. Find Pickupfamily Mum's favourite sculpture: Dennis
Oppenheim's Basket and weave.
D = the number of blue rings which make up the basket.
5. Find Pickupfamily Daughter's favourite sculpture: Les
Kossatz' Sweeney's keepsake.
E = the number of chains used to suspend the heart.
6. Now calculate:
F = D - A - 2
G = A + E
H = B + 1
J = C - 2
7. Proceed to the final cache at:
