Geocache Description:

Ammo size container near the English River

I've had this container for some time and been wanting to hide a cache around here. The nearby bridge was built in in 1887 as part of the stage coach line between Washington and Kalona. The bridge was recently closed by the county engineer. Cache is on South side of the river. Take Hwy 1 south of Kalona and then take 133rd St east to approach cache so you won't need to cross bridge.

The cache starts with a variety of trinkets, travel bugs and coins we picked up on a 3500 mile 54 cache family vacation to the Yellowstone National Park area.

If you are coming from the North, be sure to continue south to Washington and try for two great micro caches; Central Park Micro (GCWJYT) and Madison & 2nd Ave. cache (GCWMK2). MP TRI CACHE (GCPAMC) is just a few miles beyond those. It is one of our all time favorites and sees all too little activity.
