Geocache Description:

This multicache will take you on a short tour of the town of Millbrook, including the mill pond and the main street. Clues for the next stage in the multi can be found on historical plates, plaques or buildings.

The posted co-ordinates are for the parking lot. The multi-cache is a round trip (approximately 1.5 km total) and will take you back to this location.

Parking: N 44o 09.001
W 78o 26.714

At each stop you will look for some information (e.g. sign or historical plaque) that you will then use to direct you to the next stop. You also have to do some simple math (adding!). Treat each coordinate as one big number and ignore the decimal point.

Stop #1…I’ll give you the coordinates for this one!
N 44o 08.994
W 78o 26.733

* Now…look for the year it opened and the last year it served as a school.

To Get to Stop #2…to find your way to stop #2, take the small gravel path to the northwest of you…down the hill.

N 44o 06.994 + the year it opened (from Stop #1) = _____________________
W 78o 24. 822 + the last year it served as a school = _____________________

* When you get here, stop for a break and nice view…especially at sunset! Also count the
number of posts!

To Get to Stop #3

N 44o 08.954 + number of posts = _____________________
W 78o 26.858 + number of posts = _____________________

* Don’t go sliding down the hill…there are some steps! Read the historical plaque.

To Get to Stop #4

N 44o 07.180 + year of the first mill on site = _____________________
W 78o 25.011 + year saw mill was added = _____________________

* You now will be heading into the “downtown” of Millbrook. Many movies have been filmed here recently, including “A History of Violence”, “Ice Princess” and “The Music Man”. See anything familiar??? Find the historical plate on this building.

To Get to Stop #5

N 44o 07.138 + year it was built = _____________________
W 78o 25.050 + year it was built = _____________________

* Read the historical plaque.

To Get to Stop #6

N 44o 07.163 + year “around” when it was built = _____________________
W 78o 24.964 + year “around” when it was built = _____________________

* If you are not too tired yet…stop in and patronize some of our local establishments. Some of the shops are very quaint! Find the historical plate.

To Get to the Cache

N 44o 07.065 + year it was built = _____________________
W 78o 24.859 + year it was built = _____________________

* Now you are off to find the cache…I hoped you liked your little tour of Millbrook. You can follow the path back up to the school now (same way you came down) and hopefully find the cache…as well as your car! Good Luck! If you want to spend the day here geocaching…there are other nearby caches on the Millbrook Trails. Enjoy!
