Geocache Description:

This traditional geocache is located at Bailey's Brook, Pictou County.

Major Margaret C. MacDonald was born (1873) and raised at Bailey's Brook. She led an extraordinary life throughout the course of her military nursing career. The highlights of Margaret's nursing vocation are cast for you to read.

Nurse Margaret was the first woman to hold the rank of major in the British Empire. She was recognized in 1920 by St Francis Xavier University with an honorary degree; only the second woman to be so honored.

The Lismore and district Garden Club have planted an exemplary garden at this site. Be sure to admire their efforts on Nurse Margaret's behalf as you retrieve the cache at N 45' 39.626 W 62' 16.520.

The original cache container vanished and was replaced with a camouflaged 750ml lok-n-lok. At time of replacement the cache contained a rubber spider keychain, a pak of cribbage pegs, a flashing frog ring, a pocket pak of duct tape and a 5-pak of dice. Please be stealthy in your hunt and sign the log for credit.
