Geocache Description:

Cache is a red plastic coffee can located on Bald Mountain in the Adirondack State Park in New York State. We placed this cache because the previous one on Bald Mountain (placed by "Gimpy") was stolen.
NOTE: bring your own pen/pencil.
ALSO NOTE: please do not leave TravelBugs in the cache as caches in this part of the Adirondacks typically get stolen.

The cache is hidden a short walk away from the main trail (was originally fairly close), is located at the base of a tree and is covered with bark & moss. If you can make it up the Bald Mountain trail (visit link) you shouldn't have many problems navigating your way to the cache.

PLEASE NOTE: there is no "rock scaling" needed to get to this cache.

Be forewarned: the location is also within 20 feet or so to a ridge that has a steep view down the face of the mountain, so make sure you're watching where you're going, and not just looking at your GPS. Please be careful and respect that this portion of the mountain is no place for monkey business, nor for small children who may be running out of control. You have been warned so please be careful and take responsibility for yourself and the actions of those in your search party...

There is a logbook and in a plastic ziplock bag. Other than that the container is empty. I've chosen to simplify the contents so as not to attract whoever is stealing caches stocked with HappyMeal toys and gel wristbands. You are welcome to leave things in this cache but be aware that it will likely get stolen eventually. Also it may not be a good idea to state your goody deposits in your log posting (other than TB's).

If you choose to go to this cache, make sure you make it to the end of the trail in which you will find a fire-tower and a spectacular view of the Fulton Chain of Lakes region. the fire tower is only about 1/10th mile further hike from the cache. More info can be found about the fire tower at (visit link)

Local maintenance person for this cache will be MsDoo.

FTF goes to BlueGirl and GeoLobo!
