What's Shaking at Salmon Creek Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

FunnyNose: Well the unique container at WP2 was missing. So I will put this one to sleep, hopefully this neat area will get some more caches soon.

Geocache Description:

What's Shaking at Salmon Creek

Salmon Creek Ravine (92.79 acres) is an undeveloped natural park in Burien which contains approximately one mile of stream and little over one mile of tributaries, some of which are spring fed. Animals common to the ravine include raccoon, red fox, muskrat, bats and gray squirrels. Very limited parking is to the west of the entrance to the treatment center. Do not block the main gate. I probably would not do this at night as there is a fairly substantial drop off at one of the WPs.

To get to WP1 you go to the gate which may be latched but this is one of the few public access points to the park. You need to walk along the outside of the western fence about 500 hundred feet to get to WP1. From there you will walk up to a major hillside collapse that happened during the 2001 Nisqually earthquake. Other Photos here

Then continue up the ravine to the final. You will be looking for a medium sized FN Ver2 camouflaged lock&lock. Total mileage walked should be about 1.25 miles round trip. Much of the walk will be on graded roadbed.
