The container is big enough for the log book and small trade items and travel bugs. Have fun and please re-hide the cache exactly as you found it. Thanks to Del for helping with the final details by reviewing the location and with other items in the listing. The mosquitoes are worst in the mornings and evenings and usually not too bad during the day.
The Cemetery This cemetery was one of the first in the area. It is owned by the city of New Franklin. Many of the markers are for people who were a major part of the history of the area and quite a few local roads bear their names. Some were veterans of both World Wars, The Civil War, The War of 1812 and at least one fought in the Revolutionary War for our independence.
The Church Saint Peter's United Church of Christ is one of the first churches built in this area. The Rogue's Hollow area was one of the roughest and toughest coal mining areas in the country in it's heyday. It was reported that Jesse James used the location as a hide out for a short time. The local constable wouldn't even venture through the hollow after dark. The women of the area demanded a church be built so the men found a spot far from anything and built the church there just to appease the ladies. At that time Cleveland Massillon Rd. didn't exist and the nearest roads were far to the west and south. The original front section of the church is over 200 years old.
