Heron Hideaway Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Cydriver: Well, I thought this one would never 'wash away' cuz it was a magnetic nut and bolt stuck to the side of the rusted metal object, but apparently it 'walked away' with someone! So sad. Not going to replace.

Geocache Description:

The walking trail starts from the south parking area, but with the new cache placement in Aug. '09 you can get to the cache without walking the trails. Not much of a view of the river, unless you hike in further. You will see some interesting things laying around. I didn't see any poison ivy, but it could be there. There will definitely be itch weed on the trails. This area floods when the Skunk River is high, and the area could be muddy. We named this cache when we originally hid it close to the river. Bus Boy and I were trying to get a good signal and out of the corners of our eyes we saw a heron flying south over the river. So we decided to name the cache after it. Eagles have nested along the river in late winter in the past. Who knows, maybe you will get to see one of these large birds!
