Learn to use a GPS and how to find geocaches at Westchester Lagoon's Covy Cafe between noon and 3pm on Saturday August 26th. As we say 'goodbye to summer' there's plenty of hot fall and winter geocaching action ahead!
Bring your friends, your family, or just yourself to the Covy Cafe's outdoor area and learn about Geocaching. A limited number of handheld GPS units will be available for use as you learn how to find geocaches hidden around the Lagoon's paved trail system. Members of Geocache Alaska will provide personal lessons in GPS use, and will be on hand throughout the area to ensure your success in finding the 'geocaches' hidden just for this training event. Experience this fast-growing game that's paced for outdoor users of all ages and abilities, and see some of the 'treasures' that you might find in a geocache. There are special prizes for all ages that complete the course!
Experienced cachers can enjoy the camaraderie of the Covy Cafe location and get the coordinates of a cache placed especially for them as part of this event.
