A micro cache on the banks of the Kennet & Avon canal at Aldermaston.
A good cache to do when combined with some of the other caches along the canal. The difficulty rating reflects "the muggle factor". This one is at the Aldermaston Visitors Centre, an organisation raising monies for the up keep of the canal, which is sometimes run by volunteers, hence the name of the cache. Further details below:
The Shop at The Visitors' Centre, Aldermaston Wharf
The Visitor Centre and Shop/Tea-room lies 100 yards to the east of the Aldermaston swing-bridge that carries the A340 over the canal just north of Aldermaston. The Shop is operated by the Kennet and Avon Canal Trust and contains a small canal-related display.
On sale: Canal-related books, magazines, maps, souvenirs and gifts. Hot and cold drinks, snack, cakes, ice creams and sweets.
Weather permitting, refreshments can be enjoyed in the canal-side gardens in front of the shop.
