Less than a 100 yards from parking. Most likely won't be accessible in winter.
This is near the Dam and Power House that provided power for Bridgton until the sixties. The Power House was built in 1922 and the concrete dam replaced a wooden one in 1931. This was a single turbine power station. If you follow the road to the boat launch you'll go over a culvert and what appears to be a river from the Power House. This was the outlet when water ran through the turbine, but now is only an inlet from the lake. If you look at the side of the building towards the dam there is a concrete section that still shows signs of housing the turbine and on the side of it you can see where they filled in the penstock (pipe from the dam, about 4' in diameter that ran 790' to the dam - penstock was removed)with concrete blocks. Nice view of the falls and rocks below at the dam.
For the FTF we left a Green 2006 Jeep TB (also a FTF). Started cache with Jeep TB, Lightning TB, 2 super balls, Slinky, 2 GPS decals, Beanie dog and the LOG.
