A great 7-mile hike along the Clackamas River. Some great views along the way.
I started this cache in 2004. I was planning a multi-cache along the Clackamas River Trail and loaded my pack with what I needed. But, time ran short and I decided to ditch the heavy ammo can in a bush and come back in a couple of weeks and find a spot for it. On the way back to the car I put out one of the itermediate points.
Then I got busy at work. I didn't make it back until about September. I found a spot for the cache and set another intermediate point. But, guess what? I misplaced the paper I'd written the coordinates on.
In March of 2005 BPzz had the same idea and placed the Clackamas River Trail multi-cache. Bummer!
So, I did Bpzz's cache on the way up to my cache. I stored the coordinates of my cache in my GPSr and stopped by one of the intermediate points and swapped out containers and turned it into another cache. Unfortunately, I had stored some other points near the cache and couldn't remember which was the cache!
So, I went back up this Summer and got the right coordinates. Now it's time to go find the cache that I first placed 29 months ago!
The cache is just about midway on the trail. You'll need a NW Forest Pass to park at either end.
It's packed full of cool outdoors-type stuff including a mighty fine First Finders prize.
