Geocache Description:

This cache gets its name from the 18" fish I saw swim past my leg when hiding this cache at night. Don't worry, they're harmless--essentially large goldfish.

This cache becomes a 5/5 for half the year...unless you like hypothermia. :)

You will have no choice but to get wet to get this cache. This is a fun challenge cache and one of the few in Kansas located underwater. This cache is a sealed PVC container located IN Lake Shawnee.

It rests on the bottom under a pile of rocks and a slab of concrete I luckily found within a few feet of the location. The rest of the bottom is soft sand/mud that you will not get particularly dirty walking in. I did it barefoot no problem. It sat in about waist-deep water when I hid it, but have also been there when it's chest-deep. Unless you are really short you should be able to keep your head above water when retrieving it if its waist deep..

When finding and replacing the cache, please take the following precautions to maintain this cache:

*The container is weighted to keep it on the bottom. In the event the weight is not enough I installed a failsafe rope that you will have to unclip from either the concrete slab or the weight. Please reclip when finished.

*The PVC unscrews on one end only. It doesn't have to be tightened until you can't turn it anymore. That will only make it more difficult for the next cacher. Check the plugs on the end just to make sure they don't pop out. They shouldn't but it doesn't hurt to be safe.

*I would recommend only waterproof TB's and swag just in case. The logbook is in a seperate waterproof match container. Please take care to use dry hands when handling it.

*This is a fairly quiet area of the lake, but it doesn't hurt to be extra stealthy. I hid it at night just to be sure.

TB for the FTF.
