Peaceful Shady Spot Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

rjbloom & co: Based on the fact that I'm not getting around to replacing it, I suppose I should admit that I am not interested in replacing it and open up the space to someone else. It is such a nice area for caches. Next time, someone should put it up in a tree, or chain it to a tree, for the next flood.

Geocache Description:

This is a lovely, peaceful, shady spot in Lopez Canyon, which is part of Penasquitos. When I worked in one of the buildings on the rim above I used to love to take a little break from work and hike in this canyon. The sycamore trees in this part of the canyon are awesome, I think.

The best place to park is at the public parking coordinates listed below. You can best enjoy the canyon hike that way. There are other canyon access spots from the south rim, but none from the north rim.

Cache is at the base of a fallen tree under some bark and leaves. Don't wander too far from ground zero because there is poison oak in the area. I've seen a rattler in this canyon, so keep a sharp look out.
