Geocache Description:

Attention: this is a puzzle cache. The cache location is in the puzzle. Don't go to the posted coordinates unless you're headed out to my Ile de la Lune cache.

Which you should be.

Sometime.

There is, of course, nothing new under the sun. All proud of myself for writing a cachecrostic, I discovered that the acrosticache has already been done. Ah well. Here's the NH Lakes Region version. For those of you who've never done an acrostic, here's how it works:

  • Print out the puzzle. (The whole thing's a picture, so you should be able to copy it and paste it somewhere else, if that helps.)
  • As you fill in the responses to the clues, write the letter in its corresponding number square on the grid as well. Black squares separate words, and words can wrap to the next line.
  • The letters in the upper righthand corner of each square in the grid correspond to the clue from which they come below. For example, the first letter in the grid comes from clue G. This is helpful when you start figuring out words in the grid, and want to bring the letters down into clues you haven't yet figured out.
  • In a traditional acrostic, the first letter of each clue would spell out the author and title of the quote in the grid. I'm not that good. But I did make it so that it's a geocaching-related word, followed by a flower, followed by a verb. For what that's worth.

The level of difficulty is based on your printing out the puzzle and doing it with no resources. If you use the internet, it's a level 1. The answers are all extremely googlable.

When you do get to the cache, please 1) observe any posted directives about parking, 2) watch out for traffic, and 3) use stealth if necessary. Depending on the season, you may need to get your feet wet.

Finally, as French Chef Julia Child used to say,

"Above all, have a good time."

A thousand thanks to Barefootgal for saving this cache from being archived while I was away for more than a decade!
