Geocache Description:

The Gullyman thinks he made it too easy on everyone finding his other stashes so he decided to make this one a bit harder of an approach. The hike from the start of the trail is not a great distance, but there is a good change in elevation. The container is a cammo painted ammo can.

This cache is located in Janesville's Riverside Park on the Ice Age Trail. Drive around the baseball fields and walk behind the picnic shelter to find the base of Devil's Staircase. The stairs are made of limestone and can be slippery after a rain storm, but a very sturdy handrail is provided and the steps are well kept. However, they are steep so please be careful & bring your camera as the Gullyman loves to see photos of your adventures. The tree cover may produce a weak signal. Please note that pets are NOT permitted in Janesville Parks between May 15 and September 15. Park hours are 5:00 A.M. to 11:00 P.M.

The original contents of the cache include a log book & pencil, silly putty, jar of new bubbles, two retractable pens, two new toy cars, two new stuffed animals and a white Jeep TB as the FTF prize.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE take your time rehiding the cache or it will likely get muggled. Just Found out that the Park's Dept has the large steel gate closed 24/7 from approximately 11/1 through 4/1 so plan accordingly if you wish to seek this one as there may be a bit of a hike in. I 've also been told that there are other trails that you can access the Ice Age Trail from up in the Riverside Golf

9/11/10 -- Cache has been replaced after muggling. It is now a camo tape covered coffee can. Enjoy and live long little cache!

4/26/15 -- Cache replaced after another muggling. It is now a smaller Rubbermaid camo tape covered container. Enjoy!
4/17/17 -- After learning where the cache was recently found where someone a few logs back felt the cache should be and relocated it, I have placed the cache back to its correct location. I have placed a visual marker as a clue too. See the photo uploaded on 4/17/17 by me or my log of the same date. PLEASE NOTE: It is NOT near the edge of the slope where someone could slip and fall. It is further NOT on the right side of the trail as you reach the top of the steps and turn right toward your goal. Yes the cords vary when there is or is not tree cover.
5/27/18 - Replaced missing cache with a desert camouflage painted peanut butter jar with new log and swag. Enjoy!
