Geocache Description:

Bacon Creek, drive up a forest service road

CCC Camp opens on Bacon Creek in May 1933.
In May 1933, Camp Skagit, F-13, opens on Bacon Creek in Skagit County six weeks after Congress passes the Emergency Conservation Work Act. The Act creates the program later called the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). The CCC was a part of President Franklin D. Roosevelt's vision of putting the nation back to work. Young men aged 18-25 could earn $30.00 a month, $25.00 of which went back to their families. While providing employment and housing for men out of work, the "3 C’s" created a lasting legacy of beautiful parks, buildings, trails, bridges, and fire lookouts.

Just before the bridge that crosses Bacon creek you will find a spot to pull over from here you aren't far from the cache.
