Geocache Description:

Home Sweet Home
You have cordially been invited
for lunch with Lewis Cufer.

Lewis is an older gent who doesn't get out much. I met him while stumbling through the bush awhile back looking for a good place to hide a geocache. I explained geocaching to him and he was very intrigued by it. I explained how people stumble around in the bushes all alone, sometimes without any family members even knowing where they are. He begged me to place a cache near his shack (if you can call it that).

So, Lewis has invited you for lunch. He has a fair bit of goodies to share but has asked for anyone who takes him up on his offer to come alone (he doesn't like large groups of visitors), and bring some crackers, a bottle of chianti and some fava beans as he is running low on those. There is no need to tell anyone where you are going, as his place is really easy to find. It's a very peaceful location, no noises to speak of. Actually, if someone were to scream as loud as they could, I don't think anyone besides Lewis would even hear you. Lewis was very camera shy and would not let me take his picture but he did allow me to take some pics of his abode.

Journey to the Cache

Start at N 49 17.359 W 122 43.907 at a fire hydrant on Victoria Drive. There is a small pullout across from the trailhead to park. The trail is well used by mountain bikers and could be muddy in some places. The trail will head up the mountain. There is no need to bushwack to the cache. Continue up the trail past the cache until you come to a bike ramp that goes up and then immediately down (see picture).

A little further up the trail you will see a large log on your left lying along side the trail. Step over the log onto a small side trail. The trail is marked is not well defined in some places. Continue down this small side trail until you reach the shelter.

The very large cache is inside the shelter against the back wall. There may be a tent in the shelter, but it is rarely used. Please respect all the items in the shelter. We have the owners' permission to place the cache here. You may bring large TB's and large trade items to this cache.
