Cache is located at a beautiful, out of the way, secluded mountain lake. Getting to the cache will be a difficult, nasty drive/hike. Not well suited to the casual or family cacher.
Caribou Lake is simply sweet. A smaller lake tucked into the mountains, this place will give you a feeling of seclusion. I saw 3 moose on the way in to the lake, and another at the lake as I placed the cache. After setting the cache, it was so still at the lake that the only sounds to be heard were the fish rising to the surface and the moose crashing through the brush on his way out. Cache is a 50 cal. ammo can.
To get there: take upper pack river road to just beyond edna, then take a left to trail 58. Figure on 7 miles of dirt road until you must take trail 58 for 2 more miles. The 2 miles of trail 58 are tough! If on a 4-wheeler or motorcycle, I would rate it a 4, if on foot ->3.5 I rode a motorcycle and thought it was a hard ride = uphill almost the whole way and rocky. The cache is hidden half way across the lake in a big scree field. This is not a good cache for you - unless you enjoy a good challenge.
