The Mighty 8th - Bonus Cache Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

The Klever Boys: We called in to check on this one yesterday and more importantly liberate the two coins that have not moved since February. Unfortunately, we couldn't locate the cache and so returned today armed with some big sticks and gloves to allow us to search the undergrowth fully.

I'm sorry to say that the cache appears to have been removed and it's particularly annoying as it contained two geocoins that obviously are other people's property.

The cache was located in a spot that is in fairly dense vegetation so as to ensure that the cache isn't visible during the winter months, so I guess there is a small chance that if it has been put back in a different location we might not be able to spot it, so we will double check when the vegetation dies down a bit (although we did search 25 yards each side of where it should be).

In view of the difficulty of keeping this one hidden in winter and the fact that it has probably gone missing when the natural cover is at it's thickest, we have decided to archive this one and keep the other Mighty 8th caches going as individual caches.

Thanks to those who have visited, and sorry to those who intended to find this one, having visited the other three..

Geocache Description:

This cache has been placed as a bonus for those who have found our three "Mighty 8th" caches:
The Mighty 8th - Glatton (GCVEXF)
The Mighty 8th - Polebrook (GCVEX8)
The Mighty 8th - Deenethorpe (GCXZYC)

Due to the need for discretion and respect for the above sites, it was really only feasible to place micro caches at each, so we thought it would be a good idea to place a bonus (full sized!) cache by way of compensation.

The co-ordinates listed above are for suitable parking - no physical cache is located there!

The cache itself is located a short walk away from the parking location at the following co-ordinates:
N52° 30.5ST   W 0° 29.XYZ

Decipher this location by visiting each of the three Mighty 8th caches mentioned above and you should find a single digit number to collect (digit G is at Glatton, P is at Polebrook and D is at Deenethorpe, but see the individual cache pages for where the number is to be found in each cache).

For the cache co-ordinates above, S=(G-3), T=(P-5), X=G, Y=(D+4) and Z=(P-3)

Slot the numbers into the equation above to find the true location at which you should find the cache - which has ample room for swaps and Travel Bugs - and hopefully will give you some nice views of the surrounding countryside.

As mentioned on the individual cache pages, anyone who has already found and logged any of the caches and would rather not return can email us via our profile and we will be glad to email back the number in question.

The route to the cache is via a public bridleway (flat) which shouldn't get very muddy but unfortunately would probably be too hard going for wheelchair users. The area is usually pretty quiet, but watch out for dog walkers.
Can finders please make sure the cache is well hidden when replacing.

Happy Hunting!
