Geocache Description:

A regular sized cache at the North end of Cayton Bay.

Cayton Bay is a splendid beach and our nearest local surf break. We thought we would place the cache so we have something else to do when the waves are flat and we can't surf!

The cache is located on a small footpath linking Cayton Bay and Cornelian Bay, close to Osgodby Point.

PLEASE BE CAREFUL AND CHECK THE TIDE TIMES before walking across Cayton beach and climbing onto the Point, or you may be cut off at high tide. The best time to set off is approximately an hour BEFORE LOW TIDE.
You can find tide times here (visit link)

To get onto the Point via the beach you will have to tackle a small scramble up a mud bank, so it is unsuitable for pushchairs, wheelchairs and small children. We think it is worth the effort to see the magnificent views of the Bay.

After finding the cache you may wish to walk on further up to the ridge for good views of Cornelian Bay and Scarborough to the North. Please take care near to the edge.

Initial cache contents are: Notepad, pen, pencil, tin opener, torch, telescope, cork, puzzle, Monsters of Rock double CD, a few Euro coins, keyring, pack of tissues.

Please feel free to post any surf related photos you may have taken whilst completing the cache.
