Geocache Description:

A small cache in pleasant countryside to the west of the village of Whittle-le-Woods, which is on the A6 road between Chorley and Preston.

The best car park is at the southern end of the Cuerden Valley Country Park, N53 41.398, W002 38.658, (O.S. SD 5755,2188).
Geocaches are not allowed inside Cuerden Park. (Update - they are allowed now, with prior permission) This one is outside the park boundary on a public footpath not far from Lisieux Hall, which is a training centre and residential home for people with learning difficulties, run by the Brothers of Charity.
A network of footpaths allows several routes of approach and some nice circular walks. Starting from the recommended car park, a footpath skirts round Lisieux Hall towards the cache. Please keep to the public footpaths and resist the temptation to climb fences to take short cuts across the fields.
The container is a turtle box at the time of writing (May 2016) and will accommodate small swap items and TBs.
The actual footpath is along an ancient sunken lane, but most people walk along the edge of the field, above the lane, where the ground is normally drier.
