This hike can be reached from either the top or bottom. We parked at N43.12.552 W79.46.431. It is along an old abandon road that use to go up the mountain
The cache is a short distance off the trail in a pretty obvious spot but will take a little climbing off the trail. I took the kids and it was a little slippery as it was damp. On a dry day kids over 6 could do it easily. The cache is a large tin container full of kids toys, puzzles, balls and things. My kids wanted to make a real treasure chest for kids things. Try to keep it going this way.
This cache can also be reached from the battlefield caches, but use EXTREME CAUTION when crossing under the road along the rail way, And DON'T cross the road as it is very busy.
Because of the tree canopy the final coordinates are an average of 4 readings from the cache. Please let me know if they need to be adjusted slightly. I did loose the sky several times on the walk to the cache site.
I would have like to see this road when it was in use because it is pretty steep and I would imagine it was a slow ride to the top on any older vehicle or wagon.
July 26,08 We did a clean up of the cache and changed the container to an ammo box. It is still located in the same spot and we added new toys and removed some of the junk. I also added a new log book, but the golf pencil is missing and I did not have another. If someone could leave a small pencil I would appreciate it. There is still a pen and another pencil in the cache.
Updated: April 6/13: Kids and I cleaned out cache and added new kids stuff. Rehid in the same spot only cleaned up a little.
