If you have seen the take off of Charles Dickens Christmas Carole with Henry Winkler, it's location is Concord, NH and part of the story is opening the old quarry. The entrance to the old quarry is off of N. State St. on Lake St. Parking coords: N43 14.457 W071 34.102 room for 2 or 3 cars. The driveway across the road is an abandoned premise.
NOT RECOMMENDED FOR NIGHT CACHING!!! Who could imagine that such trails are right here in the center of the capital city of NH? Trail is marked in blue paint on trees. There are lots of old quarries. Stick to the trails for safety. I put the Terrain at a high level not because the paths are so difficult but the drop offs at the quarry edges need to be avoided
These little quarry hens chcknd out early on the trail nesting in a medium size square lock n lock. It's a new location 10-4-07 on the lower side of the quarry where the first old hens were muggled
Found the hens floating in their ziploc in the quarry water ... muggles are mean
The hens are further away from the edge of the quarry
As you look up toward the old nest, you'll see the tiers of the granite when this was an active quarry. It's really a pretty site. Please welcome them back but rehide well
